5 Stars Plague Ship
It’s Cussler. It’s the Oregon Files. It’s just what an avid reader needs. My only concern is, sometime new ones will stop coming.
5 Stars Cussler hits one over the center field fence!
I have read most of Cussler’s nail biters and by far, he’s outdone himself with the help of Jack Du Brul. What amazes me is the depth of accuracy and attention to detail he gives down to the tiniest “fact”. I consider myself a fairly good Trivia fan, and “Google” a lot of what I don’t recognize. This guy is a walking Wikkipedia! He neatly bundles up each and every sidebar, sometimes waiting to the last page. In Plague Ship, you have to wait until the last 150 words to find out what happened to Kyle, the young man who was kidnapped by the bioterrorist cult.
You know the story line by reading the other reviews. But this one does what the others couldn’t quite do. If you try reading it at work, you’ll get into trouble with your boss! You can’t put it down, even though you know from experience the way Cussler’s books always end.
4 Stars Entertaining & action packed — classic Cussler
Clive Cussler and Jack Du Brul collaborate on the next in a great series from the high seas. In “Plague Ship”, the one-legged hero Jose Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon discover a derelict ship filled with corpses. During an investigation of the ship, the crew of the Oregon find a sole survivor and work to discover the cause of the mysterious attack.
The book opens with a signature Cussler chapter describing a catastrophe from the past that has ramifications far into the future. A Luftwaffe reconnaissance plane crash lands in Norway following a mission to locate an allied convoy headed for England. Cussler and Du Brul weave a fantastic plot to keep the reader’s interest piqued.
The main villain in the book is Thom Severance and the group, Revisionists, who believe the key to saving the planet is to practice population control. Jose Cabrillo and the crew chase the Revisionists around the world to stop the evil plot.
The book is classic Cussler - well-researched, plausible, action packed, & entertaining. It was a great book to read on a round trip flight between DC and Los Angeles.
4 Stars Plague Ship
The Oregon Files reminds me of the old Clive Cussler’s story telling. I had grown tired of alot of his work without his old heros. The Oregon Files is the shot in the arm it needed to bring back Clive Cussler into my top ten authors.
4 Stars Plague Ship
Very well written, with much research to appear realistic.
However, the main characters always survive in virtually impossible ways.
Makes exciting reading to the very end of the book. Clive Cussler is a master at creating these fictional stories.

5 Stars A Must Have for Anyone Who Travels!!!
This book is a gold mine! Do your self a favor and buy one for yourself and a few more to have on hand for gifts in the future!!! I consider myself pretty well organized when it comes to travel with our son, but this book gave me so many more ideas and tips. Well worth it, and enjoyable to read!
5 Stars A must-read before you travel overseas with a baby!
I recently purchased several books on traveling with children, and this was by far the best. By the time I finished the book, I had several pages of notes written down, including things to pack that I never thought of, things to do before I go, products to check out and websites to visit. Reading this book has made me feel much more prepared and less nervous for my upcoming trip to France with a 15 month old, and I am confident that our trip can only go smoother having read this one!
5 Stars For Families on the Go!
A must-have resource for families on the go. Interesting reading and packed with helpful tips. Easy-to-use charts to help families find the best airlines, ships, etc. for their specific needs. Perfect gift for parents of young children!
5 Stars This book ROCKS!!!
Seriously, this is a travel bible for new parents. What a huge help this book has been from selecting a good stroller (wished we would have found this BEFORE we had our baby for car seat info too!) to calling ahead to find out if a hotel has a crib saving our trunk space from a pack and play or other. Prepping the diaper bag and carry ons have never been simpler and I have memorized the shopping list for baby must haves while traveling. Never would have thought of some of that stuff! The blog is excellent too. Please give this gift to new mommies and daddies with your baby shower gift…I am so grateful for the different age sections and different types of travel reviews. Thank you Ms. Rivoli!
5 Stars Great help for parents traveling with children
I’m flying to Europe alone with my 18 mo old daughter next month and I found this book to be a great help in preparing for the trip. It contains a lot of useful information, tips, and things I would’ve completely overlooked had I not read this book.

Enchanted April

Two proper Englishwomen, determined to get away from their drab lives and inattentive husbands, find paradise among the serene countryside of the Italian Rivera in this enchanting adventure staring Josie Lawrence and Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire).
When the pair rents a magnificent villa for a month, they share expenses with two unlikely companions an austere widow and a bored socialite. At first, personalities clash, but the hideaway holds a special magic that soon sparks friendships and reminds the women of ways to live and love that have long eluded them. Stellar performances and breathtaking scenery make the Academy Award-nominated Enchanted April (1992: Best Supporting Actress, Joan Plowright; Best Costume Design; Best Adapted Screenplay) a captivating delight for everyone who’s ever dreamed of taking the perfect holiday.

5 Stars It is truly enchanting!
I’ve had this movie on VHS for years and always pull it out to watch when I’m down in the dumps or feeling blue. It is magical in its ability to cheer me up. The story begins with two weary English women who are tired of the rain, cold and drudgery in their lives. While reading the newspaper they see an add for a castle in Italy that is for available for rent during the month of April. Despite the disapproval of their husbands and society in general, they decide to rent it. In order to pay the bills, they also invite two other women, a young, beautiful socialite and a dowager grand dame. They travel to Italy and the Enchantment begins. The movie is so beautifully shot. You feel immersed in the sights and sounds of a most glorious Italian countryside. You watch as the women begin to break from their cocoon and embrace their lives with joy. Don’t let the fact that movie is nearly 20 years old dissuade you from watching it. It is a classic that I believe will stand the test of many years.
5 Stars April/May SNAFU
Not a review per se, just a comment on the marketing of this long awaited title. What genius decide to release Enchanted April in MAY!
5 Stars I love this movie!
I watch this movie more often than any other. I am so glad it is finally on dvd as I have worn out one vhs copy and almost another. It is so beautiful in many ways. Every time I watch it I feel like I’m going on a little vacation with friends. It has a very mellow feel to it but also makes me laugh. And the scenery… Ahhh!! Heads up- the beginning takes place in a very gray and somber England, but that simply creates a contrast for what is to come once the ladies arrive in beautiful sunny Italy.
5 Stars DVD Region
I ordered ‘Enchanted April’ some years ago from Amazon. The shipper sent me a different video in the same genre because the movie I ordered was only available in Region 2 at the time. I and many others now have multi region players these days.
As I understand this movie is now available in Region 1, is it still a policy only region 1 DVD’s may be shipped to N America? I would like to order some Region 2’s (UK) but why should I bother if they will not be sent to me? Or has that changed now there are multi region players readily available or people who have hacked region codes?
Any advice?
5 Stars At last!
I’ve been waiting for years - literally -for this movie to come out on DVD! It’s lack of availability has left a tremendous hole in my collection. This is a gem of a film that deserves a wider audience and now it will get it. One of the finest ensembles of actors imaginable in a setting that will make you long to visit Italy. It will reaffirm your faith in the ability of the human heart to return to life regardless of how long it’s been lying dormant. Once you’ve seen “Enchanted Aprl”, it will become one of those comfort films to which you’ll return again and again.
